2797105 - SimpleAddressFormat is not Displayed Correctly if Field Values are Left Null

Symptom

When using a SimpleAddressFormat, if one of the fields is not filled out, the format is not followed

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental

Environment

Employee Central - Personal Information

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add SimpleAddressFormat
  2. Fill out all fields in the format, appears correctly
  3. Remove one of the fields (set to null), appears incorrectly

Cause

This is currently a defect. If current value of one of the fields in the SimpleAddressFormat is null, it will be replaced by an empty string.

Resolution

This is on track to be fixed in the 1908 release. The workaround is to ensure none of the configured fields are set to null. When all the fields contain a value, the SimpleAddressFormat is followed successfully.
