Changes made affect the scheduling of the project
Start date of work must be before earliest finish date of task
Start date of work period must be before earliest finish date of task
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Configuration work center
- Select Implementation Projects view or Overview
- Search and Open the activity Migration of Projects
- Choose Migrate projects using the migration tool
- Execute Migration for the respective Migration File
- You receive the error message mentioned during the Simulation step
Cause
The Task was not accepted because of the gap between the early start and late start date of the task, also known as float.
Resolution
The early start date is determined by the project start and the late start is determined by finish constraint of the Task (Finish - Duration = Start). The migration requires the service be within the task's early start and finish. Further, a Work package should have Start and End date within those of the Task to which it belongs. You can maintain Dates or Duration for the Task matching the Work packages Dates.
Whenever you would like to have a Start and End dates on the Work sheet, the functionality is that the Period Plan that gets created has to be within the Task Start and End dates. To ensure that you maintain the Duration column. This automatically takes care of giving a Start and End dates and you will no longer face this error message.
