2798813 - Address Prefecture Is Not Displayed In The Corresponding Language

Prefecture of Japanese Address is displayed in different format and language.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Account Management work center.
2. Select Accounts view.
3. Search for the respective account and select Edit.
4. Navigate to Communication tab and Addresses subtab.

Then you can find one address is displayed as "○○○区, Tokyo", while the other one is displayed as "東京都○○○区".

There is certain logic implemented in ByD for representing addresses in different format and language for formatted address. Particularly for Asian language there is a logic, that is dependent on amount of characters used in Latin alphabets or Asian characters, the prefecture is displayed in corresponding language.

Please check if you have maintained more Latin characters (letters and numbers) in the address line. If you add more Japanese script, the address will be formatted according to the style used in Japan for domestics address formatting.

If you would like to have prefecture displayed in Japanese, the best way is to maintain most of all fields in Japanese characters.
