Cause

  • Limitation of the Microsoft Word (97-2003) Editable format exporting driver.

  • The Microsoft Word (97-2003) - Editable exporting driver does not have the functionality to export the Report Header section to a Cover Page section of a MS Word document, therefore it export the text to the body section of a MS Word document, and this is why the text in the Page Header, like Column Headers, displays before the text you see in the Report Header section when exporting a report from Crystal Reports to MS Word Editable format.

Resolution

  • Export the report to a different format that supports exporting the Report Header before the Page Header:
    • MS Word
    • Rich Text Format (RTF)
    • PDF
