2800674 - Benefits Auto Enrollment Job is not creating termination of benefit

Symptom

Benefits Auto Enrollment is not terminating benefit for an terminated employee.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Global Benefits

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Terminate Employee
  2. Run Benefits Auto Enrollment job
  3. Check terminated employee profile
  4. Go to Benefits section
  5. Benefit will not be ended

Cause

Benefits Auto enrollment will make enrollment record inactive just for Allowance/Insurances/Pension and the Enrollment Type as “Automatic”.

Resolution

  1. If an enrollment is created using auto enrollment job and if the job is scheduled on a daily basis, the job will delimit the enrollment record when the employee gets terminated.
  2. If an enrollment is created manually where we do not support jobs feature, then those enrollment records need to be delimited manually in manage data whenever the employee gets terminated.

Example: If enrollment record is created for 2019 period then the records in manage data will be as below.

Jan 1st 2019 to Dec 31st 2019 – Active time slice

Jan 1st 2020 to Dec 31st 9999 – Inactive time slice

Now consider Employee got terminated which is effective from July 1st 2019 then the enrollment record needs to be adjusted manually in the manage data.

To do that, change the inactive time slice’s ‘Effective from date’ to July 1st 2019 (which was originally Jan 1st 2020) and save the record.

  1. If there are any compensation/Deduction records, please adjust the same too.

Additional notes:

1. If the employee is manually enrolled to an insurance type of benefit and when the employee is terminated, once the auto enrollment job is ran the system will delimit the benefit enrollment record (For insurance it does not matter whether the employee is enrolled manually or automatically, once the job is ran and once the system detects that the employee is inactive, the system will make the enrollment record as inactive too)

2. If the employee is manually enrolled to an Allowance or a Pension type of benefit and when the employee is terminated, once the auto enrollment job is ran, the system will NOT delimit the enrollment record, the only time the system will delimit the record is if the employee is enrolled automatically initially.

From b1911 release there is an enhancement deployed by engineering team (BEN-4158) to automatically delimit all enrollment records for terminated users irrespective of enrollment type (manual/automatic).
