2802250 - CPU utilization metrics - SAP ASE 15.7 and 16.0

Symptom

  • Should IOCPUTime in CPU metrics calculation be used?
  • The following query in the monitoring script gives unexpected CPU hike:

SELECT EngineNumber , CPUTime , SystemCPUTime , UserCPUTime , IOCPUTime , 'Sample_dtm' = getdate()
INTO #cpu_stats_beg    
FROM master..monEngine WHERE 1=2 

  • However, no CPU hike is observed based on the OS monitoring. 
  • This ASE server was recently upgraded from v.15.5 to v.16.0.
