2802305 - Career Worksheet - The Job Roles do not show the same competencies when logging in with another language / locale

Symptom

  • When logging to the instance with a language / locale other than English US, the Career Worksheet does not display all competencies for the Job Role.
  • The Readiness Percentage is different for the same Job Role when viewing the instance in a different language.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Planning - Career Worksheet
  • SAP SuccessFactors Job Profile Builder

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Career Worksheet > look at a certain Job Role and the associated competencies. For example, the Sales job role has 5 associated competencies.

  2. Go to Options > Change to another language. For example, change the language to Spanish.
  3. Go to the Career Worksheet > look at the same Job Role. For example, the Sales job role now only displays 3 associated competencies.

Cause

Translations for the selected language have not been defined for all competencies in the instance. To check this:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content > select "Set Up Families and Roles".
  2. Select the Job Role you were looking at in Career Worksheet > go to the Mapped Competencies tab and click on one of the competencies that were not showing.
  3. For the Competency Name, click on the Translations icon. Notice that the translation for the affected language is missing.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, you should import a translation for the languages you use in the instance for all Competencies.

  1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export.
  2. In the top-right corner, in the "Download Data Import File Template" dropdown, select "Competency" > when prompted on whether you'd like to fill the template with existing data, select Yes.
  3. Go to Admin Center > Monitor Job > download the result for the CompetencyEntity_MDFExport.
  4. For the competencies that are missing translations, define the translations for the competency name, library name and category. If you don't have translations, you can simply copy the English labels to the other columns. Save the file.

  5. Go to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export > select "Competency" for the type > choose the file you just prepared > select the appropriate File Encoding > Import it.
