Symptom
- Measure object cannot display correct value after merge dimensions in SAP Analytics Cloud story
- Measure object shows sum value instead of actual value when using linked models
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- Import Data Connection
Reproducing the Issue
- Create model M01 with 1 dimension "A01" and 1 measure object "m01"
- Create model M02 with 3 dimensions "A01" , "B01", "C01" and 1 measure object "m02".
- Create story page with M01 in table structure.
- Create story page 2 with M02 in table structure.
- Create story page 3 with Linked M02 & M01 on dimension "A01".
>>Measure object"m01" displays sum value for all rows.
Cause
The problem here stems from the fact that the acquired data has an empty string value for the linked dimensions' Description attribute which is used by default in blending scenarios.
Resolution
The fix in this case is to explicitly give the application a hint to use the ID attribute.
