2803518 - Not Possible to Nullify the Storage Group ID for Materials Using Mass Data Maintenance

Your requirement is to blank out the Storage Group ID in the Logistics tab of Materials using Mass Data Maintenance. Upon executing the update using Mass Data Maintenance, after successful execution, you observe that the Materials are still assigned to the Storage Group.

To nullify the Storage Group ID in the Logistics tab of Materials:

1. Go to Mass Data Maintenance work center
2. Select Export Materials link
3. Export the data from the Logistics tab to CSV file
4. Modify the field Storage Group to blank/ empty for all the Materials
5. Select Import Materials link and upload the file to the Logistics tab
6. Execute Data Import Immediately
7. No errors

To check the Materials:

1. Go to Product Data work center
2. Go to Materials view
3. Go to Materials subview
4. Query All Materials
5. Search any Material ID
6. Choose Edit
7. Select View All
8. Go to Logistics tab
9. Select the Site
10. The Storage Group data is not empty

Using Mass Data Maintenance or ManageMaterialIn webservice, you will not be able to nullify the Storage Group ID in the Logistics tab of Materials.

It is possible to modify the existing Storage Group ID but not nullify them.
