Symptom

On Linux platforms, the total memory usage for SAP IQ 16.x could exceed the sum of all the memory settings below, configured in the IQ config file.

  • -iqmc
  • -iqtc
  • -iqlm
  • -ch
  • -gn * (-gss + -iqtss)
  • (-iqmt * -iqtss)

If the memory usage exceeds some limit on the OS, the Linux OS could kill the IQ process with the OOM Killer (Out of memory killer)
