Symptom
According to the holiday calendar, the 24th and/or 31st of December are valid as half-day holidays. When an employee books a vacation on the 24th or the 31st of December, only a half-day leave should be deducted for each date. But these days are counted as full leave days. In this way, too much leave is deducted.

2. Select Employees subview

Cause
The following rule variations for half-day holidays and absence calculation exist:
Rule |
Consequences |
---|---|
Holiday is paid day off |
If there is a deviation defined in the time model, then this is the planned working time for half-day holidays. A full day vacation is calculated with 0.5 days but with the target hours of the deviation. It is not possible to record half-day records on half-day holidays. |
Full holiday is paid day off |
A half-day holiday is treated as a normal working day. If there are deviations in the daily time model, they are ignored. A full day vacation (or other absence) is calculated with 1 day, a half-day vacation with 0.5 days. The absence hours are set in relation to the target hours, that is if the target hours are 8 hours, a half-day record is calculated with 4 hours. |
Full day holiday is an unpaid day off |
The same handling on half-day holidays as with the rule Full holiday is paid day off. |
Holiday is workday |
If there is a deviation defined in the time model for half-day holidays, this is ignored. The employee has to work according to the normal daily time model setup. Absences are calculated against the target hours of the daily time models, full-day records are calculated with 1 day, half-day records with 0.5 days. |
