2804189 - Unable to Import WFA on HANA Configuration

Symptom

  • Partner is trying to implement WFA on HANA and upon importing Configuration File, the screen stays loading and configuration file is not uploaded.
  • Customer initially had an Analytics in EC Cube, Deleted the Analytics in EC Cube and now attempting to Import New Configuration File and Start Initial Load of Fact Data & Cube.

Environment

SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics on HANA

SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  • Log in to SuccessFactors
  • Go to Workforce Analytics
  • WFA on HANA Data Factory
  • Under Configuration Section: Select Import/Export configuration
  • Click on Import Config > Attach config file > Click on Import.
  • "This will overwrite the current configuration. Are you sure you want to proceed?" - Click on OK.
  • "Changes to the WFA on HANA configuration will not be applied until an Initial Load is complete. Would you like to run an Initial Load now?

To run an Initial Load later, use the Build Fact Table and Cube Link on the WFA on Hana Data Factory Home Page.
Metrics within WFA will be unavailable while the Initial Load is processing." - Click on Yes.
  • Result: Page Stays loading, Configuration File is not uploaded & Initial Build Does not work.
  • Navigate back to WFA on HANA Data Factory > Load Status > Confirm Config File Never Imported.

Cause

Expected Behaviour: Configuration Import File is uploaded and Initial Build of the Cube Completes Successfully.

Actual Behaviour: WFA on HANA Data Factory remains in a state of loading and does not complete the configuration import nor does it timeout.

Cause: We are still exploring the cause of this but there seems to be caching issue caused by the instance previously having an Analytics in EC Cube enabled on the instance. We will update this KBA once the cause has been determined by development.

Resolution

We are currently investigating what is the cause and if a code fix needs to be applied.

Workaround Available:

We have been able to successfully import the configuration by choosing not to run an Initial Load now. However, the screen will still stay in process as beforehand but the configuration file will successfully upload.

Please ensure to use a different browser after the initial attempt or to clear cookies and cache before applying the workaround. Steps are as follows:

Metrics within WFA will be unavailable while the Initial Load is processing." - Click on NO.
  • Navigate to WFA on HANA Data Factory Page again > Check Load Status > Select Config Import as Load Type > Click on Apply > See that Config has Imported Successfully.
  • To start an Initial Load: Click on Home Icon in Top Left Corner of WFA Data Factor iFrame > Under Initial Process > Click on Build Fact Data & Cube > See Cube now builds successfully provided that valid configuration was imported.
