2804348 - Error Occurs While Activating Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders: Decision table not activated; default entry (*) missing

Symptom

You are trying to activate the Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders, however system shows the error message up on selecting Save and Activate button.

Error - Decision table not activated; default entry (*) missing

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Purchase Requests and Orders work center
  2. Go to the Common Tasks view 
  3. Select Define Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders
  4. Select Save and Activate
  5. Error occurs

Cause

In order for auto create purchase order from purchase request, there needs to be a default row maintained always with below values. Without this rule there will be no fall back behavior and the creation may result in error which is why a check was introduced to make sure this fall back is maintained.

Company ID                      Supplier ID                       Origin Type              Product Category             Creating options

         *                                     *                                        *                                   *                            Create manually / Create automatically

Resolution

Irrespective of what other rules the user sets up, the above rule should mandatory be maintained as the last row of the rule table the creating options can be set as manual or automatic but all other attributes should have value.
