Symptom
When generating an Ad Hoc Report including columns related to Matrix Grid Placement History, the values of "-8" and "-12" can be seen in the Placement column.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Succession Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Create an Ad Hoc report on a domain which supports reporting on Matrix Grid Placement History (for example, Employee Profile and Succession Domains);
- Select user specific columns (for example, username) and also Matrix Grid Placement History columns (Start Date, End Date and Placement);
- Generate the report and verify that some users show their placements with a text label, while some users may show a placement of "-8" or "-12".
Cause
This issue is caused when no labels have been configured for 'Unrated' and 'Too new too rate' ratings in the corresponding Matrix Grid Report configuration section of the Admin Center.
NOTE: The value -8 refers to 'Too new to rate' and the value -12 refers to 'Unrated'
Resolution
- Navigate to relevant Matrix Grid Report configuration page in the Succession section of the Admin Center;
- Insert the labels which correspond to the 'Unrated' and 'Too new to rate';
Once saved, you can regenerate the ad hoc report and verify the values have updated to the labels you have configured:
NOTE: After the b1908 release, the expected behavior is that if placement labels are not configured, the column will appear as blank in the Ad Hoc report.
