Symptom
You have generated an output pdf document, however when trying to open it using Adobe Reader you receive the following error message:
"A font package is required do correct dysplay this page..."
However, in the most of the cases this is not observed whyen opening the pdf files using Google Chrome browser.
Environment
- SAP Business ByDesign
- SAP Cloud for Customer
Cause
Usually this is caused when customer edited the form template on Easy Form Editor or Adobe LiveCycle Designer and inserted some blank spaces on it.
On this cases the font KozGoPr6N-Medium is added to the form and is the root cause of the message in Adobe Reader.
The font KozGoPr6N-Medium is considered by Adobe a restricted font and this behavior is because Adobe changed the way it leads with CID (Character Identifier font) fonts. It now prompt the users to install an Asian language pack for documents that do not have a single eastern character in them. All because the encoding for the used CID fonts is Eastern (it has to be, because Adobe requires it for CID fonts).
You can check this information here in Adobe Restricted Fonts page.
Resolution
First thing to do is check if the pdf file has the font KozGoPr6N-Medium:
- Open the PDF file on Adobe Reader.
- Go to File and click on Properties.
- On Document Properties window go to Fonts tab.
To correct this we need to remove the extra blank spaces fom the form template:
- Go to Application and User Management Workcenter.
- Open Form Template Maintenance.
- Search for your form template in the list.
- Click on Open and select Easy Form Editor.
- Search for blank spaces and remove them.
