Symptom
A user opens a story in one tab of a web browser. The same story is opened again on a different tab within the same web browser and data is lost after performing some date entry (planning) steps.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud
Cause
The same story was opened in multiple web browser tabs and the data became unsynchronized across web browser tabs.
Resolution
Recommendations:
- If at all possible, perform planning steps in one web browser tab.
- If you have to use several tabs, a browser tab should be refreshed before any planning steps (data entry, data deletion, data actions, etc.) are performed. If not, this can and most likely will lead to errors or states where the user cannot understand how certain data changes occurred.
- Upon refreshing a web browser tab, you have the impression that something went wrong with the data entry, you can check the version history and undo the changes you made beforehand.
This can be done as long as the changes have not been published. - After publishing your changes, all browser tabs should be refreshed again.
