2805853 - Inactive Position set back to Active when Inserting New Record

Symptom

Inactive position automatically set back to active after inserting new record.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Position Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Metadata Framework 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Manage Position
  2. Click on Advance
  3. Set Including Inactives: Yes
  4. Search for any Inactive Position (Status: Inactive)
  5. Click on Insert New Record
  6. Enter effective date after the latest record
  7. Do any changes on the Position
  8. Save Changes
  9. Notice that the Status has been set back to Active.

Resolution

The Status (system field) is intentionally reset to default value and this has been implemented as per MDF design. It is expected to change the status to Active whenever new record is added irrespective of what was previous status.
