2807757 - Unable to stop Rep Agent after timeslice error in HADR - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Stopping Replication Agent reports a timeslice error with a stack trace and the Rep Agent hung:

timeslice -1001, current process infected at 0x3e0800ba5e (pthread_cond_timedwait+0x13e)

  • The stack trace includes the following modules:

sybnet_wait_rtn
np_wait_rtn
np_io_read
ct__tds_recvpkt
ct__tds_get_bytes
ct__tds_read_token
ct__tds_resproc
ct_async_exec_stack
ct__api_async     
ct_results
MSOCSSendMsg

  • The 'dbcc stacktrace' output for the hanging Rep Agent spid shows functions:

ra_ci_init_CI_lib
ra__ci_setup
ra_ci_main_thread

  • sap_disable_replication fails to complete.
  • The Active Replication server is down or unreachable.
