2808599 - Learning Audit Table Purge Log

Symptom

  • Is there a way to log what users are purged in Learning?
  • What information is stored in the logging for users that are purged?
  • How is the logging for purged users enabled?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Resolution

In the LMS, we can keep a log of users whose personal information is purged from Learning audit tables.

When the Purge Deleted User Audit History process runs and purges user data, we can log the users who were purged from the audit tables (PA_USER_PURGE_LOG). The log includes only the following information of the user who was purged from the history tables:

  • User system ID

  • User student ID

  • User first and last name

  • Purge date and time

  • User type (user, administrator, or instructor)

Most administrators do NOT enable this as the point of the audit history purge is to remove all user information permanently.

Although we store the log in the database, we do not surface the information in the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

To turn this out below is the steps to take:

  1. Go to SAP SuccessFactors Learning Administration, and then go to System Administration->Configuration->System Configuration
  2. Edit LMS_ADMIN
  3. Find enablePurgeLog and set it to true
  4. Click Apply Changes

When this configuration is enabled, the Purge Deleted User Audit History APM will add a list of the purged users to PA_USER_PURGE_LOG.

Disabling this configuration does not delete any previously added records. If the IDs are in the log, they cannot be reused.
