2810964 - Roles Show 0 (Zero) Positions Mapped in Manage Job Profile Content

When viewing a role in Manage Job Profile Content, the # Mapped Job Codes tab shows 0 (zero) under the # Positions column:

1. Log in to SuccessFactors
2. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content
3. In the Select Content Type... dropdown, select Set up Families and Roles
4. Select the Roles tab > select a role
5. Click on the Mapped Job Codes tab
6. The # Positions column shows 0 (zero)

• Missing permission to view the positions
• A position is not mapped to the Job Code

• The configuration of custom field on the position object don't have the same field name as the custom field in the Employee Profile.

A position is not mapped to the Job Classification

The JPB Position refers to the Position Extension Object. Position Extension is an object created by the system when a job code attached to a position (Position MDF object) is mapped to a role. Position Extension object is used to store the Skills and Competencies mapped to the position. This issue can be resolved by mapping the job classification to a position depending on the module you use to manage positions:

• If you use Employee Central, review Implementing Position Management - Creating New Positions to populate the job classification in the Select Job Code field
• If you use the Succession Planning MDF position-based nomination method, review Implementing and Managing Succession - Importing Position Data for the MDF Position-Based Nomination Method to populate the job classification in the Select Job Code field.

Job code of type JOBCODE is from the User Data File JOBCODE field. Job code of type JOBCLASSIFICATION is from the MDF Job Classification object. When mapping job codes, those codes that you see appended with "- FO" are of type JOBCLASSIFICATION. It’s recommended to use JOBCLASSIFICATION if you have Employee Central implemented and JOBCODE if you don’t have an Employee Central implementation in your instance.

A custom field doesn't have the same field name as the one appearing in the custom field of employee profile.

To ensure the correct position count is displayed for the roles under Admin Center  Manage Job Profile Content, you must perform the steps mentioned in the Configuration Changes to the Integrations Using Position Org Chart topic in the Related Information section.

• Configure a custom field on the position object with the same name as the custom field in the Employee Profile. (This is for field name not label).

NOTE:

Job Profile Builder now allows you to associate a job code with a custom field (In context for this functionality, the restriction mentioned of String is True for both custom field (Employee Profile custom field and Position Object custom field) this is also as per standard with the note mentioned with the following: Ensure you use the same custom field name for all the configurations described in the procedure.
