Symptom
An error "Next Pay Scale Level is not in the same Pay Scale Group" is received when performing a full purge import of object "Pay Scale Level" with "Next Pay Scale Level".
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Foundation Objects Import
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Import and Export Data > to export the object"Pay Scale Level"
- Navigate to Monitor Job and download the exported file
- (for testing, retain only one line and delete the rest) Put any level 2 Pay Scale Level in the "nextPayScaleLevel.code" column > Save
- Navigate to Import and Export Data again to import object"Pay Scale Level"
In File Encoding field, select "Unicode (UTF-8)"
In Purge Type field, select "Full Purge" > Import - Navigate to Monitor Job and download the exported file
The last column of the file will show an error "1. Next Pay Scale Level is not in the same Pay Scale Group"
Cause
In Full Purge, all the data gets deleted and added again as new, hence, the process tries to import a "Next Pay Scale Level" which is not imported yet. This is the current expected behavior for Pay Scale objects as confirmed by our Engineering colleagues.
Resolution
- Import the object "Pay Scale Level" in full purge without the 'Next Pay Scale Level'
- Import the 'Next Pay Scale Level' with incremental import.
If this is a business requirement to be able to import "Pay Scale Level" with "Next pay Scale Level" in a full purge, you may request for an enhancement by following KBA 2090228 - How to submit enhancement requests for SAP SuccessFactors products.
