2811373 - load database raises Internal error: unable to create errorlog buffer semaphore - SAP ASE

Symptom

Receiving the following error when loading a database from source ASE 16.0 SP02 PL05 to target SAP ASE 16.0 SP03 PL07 (same OS version) loading the database to the same release works :

  • A00: SYBMULTBUF ERROR: Internal error: unable to create errorlog buffer semaphore.
    Jul 1 14:11:13 2019: Backup Server: 4.128.2.1: Failed to start multibuffering subprocesses for archive device 'compress::/prod_bkup/dbdump/ase_instance_20190628030401_1of8.dmp::000'. Look at the Backup Server error l og or standard error for more information.
