2811379 - Error 1204 followed by signal 11 with function getnext - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE errorlog reports error 1204 'out of locks'
  • On systems running SAP applications, this problem is seen during Imports (data migration/SAP upgrades):

    Error: 1204, Severity: 17, State: 2 occurred for User 'SAPSR3'. Client IP address is '10.10.1.23'.

  • This causes subsequent login attempts to fail with a signal 11
  • With a stack trace including functions getnext, attrib_getrow and pss_init
