2812617 - VAT Return Preview Button is Grayed Out

You ran a VAT Return run and then the VAT Return document gets created. You want then to have a preview of the document created for submission. You enter in the return and try to click Preview button, but it is not available, it is grayed out.

To check the VAT Return created you may follow below steps:

1. Go to Tax Management work center.
2. Go to VAT Return view.
3. Search for the Return you want to check.
4. Open the Return.
5. Click Preview button.
6. The button is grayed out.

The Preview button only works for Form based VAT Returns. This Return you are trying to check is not Form based, but Output File based. Hence, this button is not active, and no Form will be available at Form Template Maintenance view as well, under Application and User Management work center.

This definition is based in the Tax Authority for which the Tax Return is submitted. As example the Belgium and Netherlands. Both these countries have Output File based VAT Returns.

In order to verify the amounts before releasing the return, you can check the amounts reported in the boxes under tab Tax Return; and the xml file is visible under tab Attachments, after the return is Released.
