Symptom
You created a query in a specific view. In Language Adaptation, you collect the texts for this particular view. However, you do not find the name of the custom query.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
The following steps are only an example. The same happens in other workcenters/views.
-
Go to the Customers work center.
- Go to the Accounts view.
- Open an Account.
- Go to the Sales Orders view.
- Click the Advance Search button (fenel icon).
- Maintain some values in the filter.
- Click Save Query As.
- Maintain a name for this query.
- Click Save.
- Go to the Administration work center.
- Go to the General Settings view.
- Click on Language Adaptation.
- Click New.
- Maintain an ID, a source language and a target language.
- Click Save and Open.
- In the Text Pool tab, select the workcenter/view where you would like to collect the texts.
- Click "Collect Text"
- Search the name of the query in the UI Text window and in the Code Code window.
RESULT: You cannot find the name of your query there.
Cause
Two possible causes:
1) You have created an end user personalized query and not a key user query. This query is only visible for your user.
Language Adaptation is a key user tool and only key user queries can be adapted/translated with it.
2) You are trying to translate an embedded component (for instance, the Sales Order facet inside an Account).
At the moment it is not possible to translate Embedded components.
Resolution
For reason 1), the Key user should create a query in Adaptation Mode (instead of Personalization Mode).
We need to follow the same steps as before but being in Adaptation mode. This will make the query visible for all users.
- Log in with a Key User user.
-
Click Start Adaptation.
- Go to the relevant work center/view.
-
Click on the Advance Search button (fenel icon).
-
Maintain some values in the filter.
-
Click Save Query As.
-
Maintain a name for this query.
-
Click Save.
- End the Adaptation mode.
-
Go to the Administration work center.
- Go to the General Setings view.
- Click on Language Adaptation.
- Open the Language Adaptation that you previously created.
- Click Collect Texts again.
RESULT: Now you will be able find the custom query.
For reason 2), our developers are planning to offer the possibility to translate embedded components in the future. You can also request this new requirement in the SAP Cloud for Customer influence site: https://influence.sap.com. The more votes a request has, the more chances there are to be have it implemented soon.
