2812995 - 500 Characters Limit in the Feed

Symptom

When using the Feed you cannot post a message with more than 500 characters.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Feed.
  2. Add a message, you cannot add more than 500 characters.

Cause

The Feed by standard has a limit of 500 characters, this cannot be enhanced. However, for Feed Comments characters limitation is not applicable.

Per example, within a Sales Order you can add a Feed Comment with 1000 characters.

Resolution

This is the standard behavior of the system.

If the feature/functionality is needed as a matter of urgency, please refer to KBA 3475641 - Functionality Currently not Available.

An alternative option may be to check the SAP Customer Influence Site to submit an idea.
