Symptom

Data Sources give the following error when trying to access or creating a new one:

SAP DBTech JDBC: [403]: internal error: Cannot get remote source objects: Creating external odm service failed

Pre-Requisites:

  • SDA remote source is configured as per the relevant SAP Official Documentation as well as remote source Documentation (uniXODBC, ODBC Drivers, .odbc.ini etc)
  • Connection to remote source via OS (isql) works
  • SAFE MODE for ODBC Connections is enabled
