2814020 - Error "Organizational Unit Locked by XYZ" During Hiring Process

You are executing the process to hire an employee on your Business ByDesign solution when you encounter the mentioned error message.

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to the Personnel Administration work center.
2. Access the Regular Tasks view.
3. Click the link to Hire an Employee.
• If there are multiple countries scoped in your solution, you will have to select the relevant country tab before this.
4. Fill the mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk) for the first step and click Next.
5. Fill the mandatory fields for the second step and click Next.
6. The error message "Organizational unit locked by XYZ" (where XYZ stands for a business user ID) occurs.

The most likely reason for this is the user mentioned in the error message is working on the second step of the hiring process and has selected the same org unit for the employee's assignment. In the backend, the business object will lock while this first hiring process writes information to it, in order to avoid inconsistencies, and this lock causes the error observed.

Please try to avoid executing this process concurrently with another process already in progress.
