2814415 - Unable to Enter a P.O. Box Postal Code

You are unable to enter the P.O. box postal code in the section Main Address in Account Management work center. You receive an error message that the format of the code is not correct.

You might see a similar error message like that: Position XXX of postal code YYY must be a number (where XXX is the position and YYY is the postal code).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Account Management work center
2. Click on Account
3. Click on New > Account
4. Enter a name, country, and P.O. box postal code
5. An error occurs

The system behavior is as expected. You need to enter the P.O. box postal code only in the field P.O. Box Postal Code and not in the field Postal Code. The P.O. Box Address fields are additional, optional fields. They are used when the P.O. box address deviates from the actual postal address. It is not required to use it. Only if the P.O. box address deviates from the postal address, then you would use the P.O. Box Address fields.

If you wish to enter a deviating address to the postal address, then it is required to click on the link Additional fields below section Main Address and enter the P.O. box postal code here.
