2814854 - Sorting of a Table Column Not Working Based on Values Adapted Via Language Adaptation

Symptom

You have modified the values of some code descriptions using language adaptation, but when these values are displayed in a table, they do not accurately sort by the custom values.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisites:

  • You have used language adaptation to change the values on a code list, e.g. Party Role.
  • You have a table which displays these values, e.g. Involved Parties table in the Involved Parties facet in the Sales Quote workcenter view.

Steps:

  1. Try to sort the table by column Party Role.

Observe that the sorting is not correct per the current values in the Party Role column.

Cause

Code descriptions adapted via Language Adaptation are sorted correctly in their drop-down fields but in table columns the sorting is done based on the original descriptions.

Resolution

If sorting is required, the recommended alternatives to language adaptations are below:

  • For adapting code descriptions for business configuration enabled codes it is recommended to use the business configuration.
  • For adapting key user extension fields, it is recommended to use key user adaptation.
