Cause

The error message is issued because document type associated with Business transaction referenced in the long text does not allow the GL Account with associated item category to be used or it is mandatory that a GL Account with a specific item category is used.

The error is raised in those postings where the rule-based splitting is required. Document can be posted without rule-based split if the required document splitting fields have already been completely assigned in the entry view of the posting or if they can be filled through process-oriented splitting or inheritance. In this case the check for forbidden/mandatory item categories are not performed.

Resolution

  1. Check:
The Document Type and related Business Transactions - Document Types Used in Document Splitting
The Purpose of Business Transactions Used in Document Splitting - Business Transactions Used in Document Splitting
The derivation of the item category -  Item Categories Used in Document Splitting
  2. If possible use alternative App, Document Type and or Accounts. Posting you are trying to make is not allowed.
