2815124 - sp_grantlogin fails in ise_mapsqlaccess() due to storage access violation - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • For Windows it's activated mixed mode to use Active Directory groups for administrating and then running sp_grantlogin to grant sa_role failed:

sp_grantlogin <login id>, "sa_role"
go

  • SAP ASE terminates this process with the following message together with a stack trace:

kernel attempted write to memory location 0000000001E8F760 from instruction at location 0x0000000000FFEE4D
kernel Adaptive Server Enterprise system exception (0xc0000005) generated by a storage access violation.

  • The stack trace includes functions:

ise_mapsqlaccess
revokeacct
grantrevokelogin
d_iseadmin
exec_dbcc
