How to set RBP permissions for MDF Objects.

Resolution

To set RBP permissions for an MDF Object you will need to perform the following steps.

 - For Generic Objects (Secured):

  1. Go to Admin Center >> Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the Role you would like to give the permission to. 
  3. Proceed to '2. Add Permissions'. 
  4. Search for 'MDF Foundation Objects' or 'Miscellaneous Permissions'.
    *Refer to steps below to identify the permission category.
  5. Select the Object and provide the necessary permissions. 

 - For Generic Objects (Non-Secured):

  1. Go to Admin Center >> Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the Role you would like to give the permission to. 
  3. Proceed to '2. Add Permissions'. 
  4. Search for 'Metadata Framework'.
  5. Select 'Access to non-secured objects'. 

 - For Foundation Objects like the Location Object:

  1. Go to Admin Center >> Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the Role you would like to give the permission to. 
  3. Proceed to '2. Add Permissions'. 
  4. Search for 'Manage Foundation Objects Types'.
  5. Select the Object and provide the necessary permissions. 


To identify the permission category for Generic Objects, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Admin Center >> Configure Object Definitions
  2. In the 1st dropdown, select 'Object Definition'.
  3. In the 2nd dropdown, select the object name.
  4. Once the object definition is opened, scroll down to the 'Security' section.

If Secured=Yes, use the Permission Category configured there.

If Secured=No, this is covered by the 'Access to non-secured objects' permission.
