Symptom
You try to award a quote but system throws the following error messages:
- Delivery Start Date Must not be in the Past.
- Delivery End Date Must not be in the Past.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Sourcing and Contracting work center.
- Click on Quotes view.
- Filter for Submitted Quotes.
- Select Quote ID XYZ (XYZ being the Quote ID).
- Click on Edit.
- Click on the Award or Check button.
You get one of the following error messages:
- Delivery Start Date Must not be in the Past.
- Delivery End Date Must not be in the Past.
Cause
This happens because you are trying to award a Quote that has Offered Service Period From or Requested Delivery Date set in the past.
You can see this while on Quote XYZ if you:
- Go to Sourcing and Contracting work center.
- Click on Quotes view.
- Filter for Submitted Quote
- Select Quote ID XYZ (XYZ being the Quote ID).
- Click on Edit.
- Click on the Items tab.
- Click on the Delivery subtab.
Resolution
If the deadline from the Request for Quotation hasn't been reached yet, you can follow the steps bellow.
- Go to Sourcing and Contracting Work Center.
- Click on Quotes View.
- Filter for Submitted Quotes.
- Select Quote ID XYZ.
- Click on Edit.
- Click on Return.
- Change the "Offered Service Period From" or "Requested Delivery Date" date to a valid one.
- Save document.
If the deadline from the Request for Quotation has been reached:
You will need to cancel both Quote and Request for Quotation because returning the Quote will cause another inconsistency since the deadline from the Request for Quotation has already passed.
