2817706 - Compensation Column Type's format and character limit - Compensation Management

Symptom

What format does each column type follow and and how many character it can accept.

Environment

SuccessFactors Compensation Management

Resolution

The Money, Amount and Percent column types will follow the formatting you set in your template's "Set Number Format Rules". As for the character limit it can accept up to 20 numbers and the recommended number of decimal places is 5 maximum 6. Compensation numbers always round and having 5 decimal places can already result to a more accurate calculation result.

The String column type can accept up to 2000 characters including spaces as an input but if you will use an import key for a String type column then you can only import max of 255 characters including spaces.

The Date column type is for date and its standard format is MM/DD/YYYY. Format can change to DD/MM/YYYY if you are using a language which uses such formart i.e. French.

The Username column type when used will fetch the value of the USERNAME column in your Employee Data file. It has a max length defined in the data model which impose the character limit.
