2818119 - Error "Time Profile Valid From YYYYMMDD to 99991231 lies outside the validity of account type ABC"

You face below error when trying to set Valid To date to Time Type ABC:

"Time Profile Valid From YYYYMMDD to 99991231 lies outside the validity of account type ABC"

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration;
2. Open Overview view;
3. Search for Time Types;
4. Open the activity;
5. Click on Maintain Employee Time Types;
6. Select the time type you want to end;
7. Change the 'Valid to' date from 99991231 to YYYYMMDD;
8. Save it;
9. You receive below error:

"Time Profile Valid From YYYYMMDD to 99991231 lies outside the validity of account type ABC"

There are time profiles set with this Time Account having Unlimited End Date, hence the system is not allowing you to set an end date to the Time Account while it is still in use.

The best way to check to which employees this Time Account is used is to use the Time Accounts Report. To do so, please follow below steps:

1. Go to Time Administration work center;
2. Open Reports view;
3. Open the Time Accounts: Monthly report;
4. Click on Apply;
5. Click on Additional Filters;
6. The field Time Account Type will be available for selection;
7. Fill it with ABC;
8. Click on Apply;
9. There you will have the list of employees using this Time Account.
   (If you prefer, you can remove the field Posting Date from the View and the list will be shorter, which facilitates the view of employees)

You will need to end the validity of this Time Account in each employee and only then when the Time Account ABC is not in use for any employee, you should be able to end its validity in its configuration activity.
