2818618 - RECOVER DATA fails because of missing log directory: No such file or directory

Symptom

You're recovering the HANA Database and the recovery fails with the following error:

RECOVERY RECOVER DATA finished with error: [448] recovery could not be completed, volume 1, reached log position 0, [110025] BackupExecutor: exception 2000004: Cannot open file "/hana/log/<SID>/mnt00001/hdb00001/__DO_NOT_TOUCH_FILES_IN_THIS_DIRECTORY__", rc=2: No such file or directory

Under the directory /hana/log/<SID>/mnt00001 you can see there is a broken symbolic link named hdb00001 and the target does not exist.
