Symptom
- On SAP systems running on SAP ASE / Linux, R3trans -d fails with : Segmentation fault (core dumped)
- The corresponding errors in trans.log is:
Caught signal 11 SIGSEGV (SEGV_ACCERR) Invalid permissions for mapped object (at 0x00007f46408a4b08)

- isql into the ASE database works fine
- sybctrl stop also fails with the error:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
/usr/sap/$SAPSYSTEMNAME/SYS/exe/run/sybxctrl stop
stop database failed
/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/stopdb: Terminating with error code 13
/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/stopdb: DB shutdown failed
- No additional error is reported in the stopsap.trc file:
_STOPDB=/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/stopdb
