2819175 - RFC Lookup Channel Messages are failing after SPS update

  • You have completed a Support Package Stack (SPS) update, in a Process Integration (PI) or Process Orchestration (PO) system.
  • Or possibly this could happen after any major system operational change e.g upgrade, system copy etc
  • You have PI interfaces which use Communication Channel Lookups, in this case an RFC Lookup
  • The interface which is using an RFC Lookup fails with errors similar to below:

Error when calling the function <Sample_Function> : Error when calling an adapter by using the communication channel <Lookup_Channel_Name> (Party: , Service: <SID_Client>, Object ID:
IBaseException:No SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found$AeException: No SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found

  • Deeper analysis of the defaultTrace files shows entries like:
Cannot access system landscape directory, cannot determine central AE
Thrown: Unable to find associated SLD element for specified class (source element: SAP_XIIntegrationServer, [CreationClassName, SAP_XIIntegrationServer, string, Name, is.01.<hostname>, string], target element class: SAP_XIDomain)
...Caused by: No SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found
...IBaseException:No SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found No SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found
  • This case was specificially related to a standard ARIBA integration using mapping called MM_CDF_InvoiceDetail_XSD_2_INVOIC_INVOIC02_INVOIC02
