2819304 - Mass Data Run Error: Your user is assigned to a different solution. Please use a valid user

You have scheduled a Mass Data Run to execute. When the execution is finished, you notice an error in the Log Information:

Error: Your user is assigned to a different solution. Please use a valid user

• SAP Cloud for Customer
• SAP Business ByDesign

Prerequisites:

• Custom Mass Data Run(MDR) previously created with all adjoining parts (screen scenario, business object, query, action script etc).

Reproduction:

1. Navigate to your custom MDR work center.
2. Open the MDR Runs view.
3. Select a Run ID.
4. Click Schedule -> Schedule Immediately.
5. Observe the MDR logs for the Run ID selected upon completion.

Error: Your user is assigned to a different solution. Please use a valid user

The run is scheduled using a PDI Development user. This should not be done since as soon as the user works on other solution in the tenant, the user will be "assigned" to the new solution layer and not the original solution layer where the MDR is created.

To resolve this issue, we recommend that you only schedule Mass Data Runs with Business Users. This is because the business user is on a "higher" layer, and does not need to be assigned to a specific solution. They have access to all solution layers.
