2820895 - Error: Check for Pending System Requests - Technical Error Occurred. Please Create an Incident

You are unable to merge the change project with the production system. The following error occurs in the merge report:

Error Message: Check for pending system requests - Technical error occurred. Please create an incident.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Click on Implementation Projects
3. Select the appropriate project
4. Click on Open Activity List
5. Select Merge Changes
6. Click on Open
7. Click on Start Merge

This can be caused by many reasons. The most frequent case is that an open remote change project exists that was not merged with the production system and that was moved to the test system. When you go to Service Control Center > Systems, you will find that the test system has been terminated in the meantime. Also a refreshed target test system can lead to the situation. In both cases  the change project does not exist anymore in the target system. It might still being visible as sent to the test system in the source system.

• Please create a SAP Support Case and provide the permission to correct the issue.  SAP needs to check the application logs in the backend. Based on this, the backend old reference to the terminated test system will be deleted.
• After that, you can try to merge the change project with the production system again. It should then find the new test system.
• In some instances, you might need to delete the change project and create a new change project.
