2821131 - You Face an Error When Entering a Negative Quantity in Production Task

For Production Task XXX, you would like to enter a negative quantity for the Input Product YYY, however you face an error message.

XXX = Task ID

YYY = Product ID

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Production Control work center.
2. Select Task Control view.
3. Find the task XXX.
4. Select the task XXX.
5. Click Confirm.
6. Select Confirmation tab.
7. Choose Input Products subtab.
8. Select Product YYY.
9. Enter a negative quantity for Product YYY.
10. You receive the error:

A negative actual quantity is not permitted.

You can only enter a negative quantity for an Input Product if the line item is already consumed. You need to have a Total Confirmed Quantity, so you can decrease this quantity with the negative entry.

As there is no Total Confirmed Quantity, the error is the system expected behavior.
