2821617 - Error Message "No authorization to record times for employee ABC on dd.mm.yyyy" When Trying to Save Time Recordings via Excel Add-in

Errors occur when trying to save time recordings or time recordings on a project for a service agent via Excel:
'No authorization to record times for employee ABC on dd.mm.yyyy' (ABC represents the service agent ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Time Administration Work Center.
2. Select Time Sheet View.
3. Select any active employee.
4. Click Actions and select Upload Project Confirmations from Microsoft Excel.
5. Maintain the Excel template with proper data, log in the Business ByDesign add-in.
6. Click button Save Data to.
7. Excel Add-in throws error message: "No authorization to record times for employee ABC on dd.mm.yyyy". 

or

1. Go to Business Partner Data Work Center. 
2. Select Service Agents View. 
3. Find the relevant service agent. 
4. Click Actions and select Record Times from Microsoft Excel. 
5. Maintain the Excel template with proper data, log in the Business ByDesign add-in.
6. Click button Save Data to.
7. Excel Add-in throws error message: "No authorization to record times for employee ABC on dd.mm.yyyy". 

If you are facing the issue in Time Administration Work Center:

Cause 1: The error occurs because a time agreement does not exist for service agent ABC.

If you are facing the issue in Business Partner Data Work Center:

Cause 2: The user you are logged in with does not have the relevant write access.

Solution for cause 1:

Please create a time sheet for the service agent by following steps:

1. Go to Business Partner Data Work Center.
2. Go to Service Agents View.
3. Search for the relevant service agent.
4. Click Edit Time Sheet button.
5. Save.

After the time sheet be created for service agent ABC, you will be able to record project time confirmation for the service agent via Excel add-in.

Solution for cause 2:

1. Go to Application and User Management Work Center. 
2. Select Business Users View. 
3. Search for the relevant user. 
4. Click Edit and Access Rights button. 
5. Go to Access Restrictions tab. 
6. Search for the Work Center View ID BPM_SERVICEAGENTS. 

If the user has no access, they cannot upload times via the Excel add-in, in order to upload time recordings via Excel the write access has to be unrestricted.
