2822547 - In DEPLOY-SAPJVM-BINARIES, SUM upgrade fails with error 'Process sappfpar completed with error code 134'

During the upgrade with Software Update Manager (SUM), DEPLOY-SAPJVM-BINARIES phase fails with below error in log:

Jun 6, 2019 1:40:34 PM [Error]: The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.jspm.service.JspmServiceException: Could not update components.
Deployment of queue Queue_2019.06.06 at 12:43:02 completed with error Deployment completed with error. See status messages for individual components.
sap.com/SAPJVM LINUX_X86_64: Cannot update SAP JVM.
Could not complete SAP JVM update.
Could not determine profile parameters.
Error while retrieving value DIR_SAPJVM,DIR_SAPJVM, with retriever com.sap.sdt.tools.sysinfo.ProfileDataRetriever.
Could not extract value with key DIR_SAPJVM,DIR_SAPJVM, from file /usr/sap//SYS/profile/_J00_hostname. A possible reason could be that the path to the directory containing the sappfpar executable is not included in the PATH environment variable.
Process sappfpar completed with error code 134.

The sappfpar check is run from the UNIX command prompt, run the sappfpar program to check the instance profile from the application server instance. Therefore when SUM is trying to execute sappfpar to determine profile parameters, it fails with an error as below

Could not extract value with key DIR_SAPJVM,DIR_SAPJVM, from file /usr/sap//SYS/profile/_J00_hostname. 
A possible reason could be that the path to the directory containing the sappfpar executable is not included in the PATH environment variable.

This error can be found in the DEPLOY-SAPJVM-BINARIES log also. Executing the sappfpar command on OS level also dumps and creats sappfpar_command_output. Below error can be found in that log file
