2822952 - Free Goods Processing does not generate a separate free goods item

Symptom

When creating a Sales Order for customer 'A' containing a certain quantity of Material 'X', it should gets material 'Y' for free.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon with role SAP_BR_INTERNAL_SALES_REP assigned.
  2. Select App 'Manage Sales Orders'.
  3. Select [Create] Sales Order.
  4. Enter a free goods item.
  5. The item is assigned the D100 condition which offer 100% discount.
  6. A new line item is not generated for a free goods item.

Cause

So far scope item BKA (Free Goods Processing) does not include this functionality.

Resolution

As a workaround, you can try the below approach:

  • Create a quotation that includes the material requested and add the free goods line item as item 2. You can then create a sales order to refer to this existing quotation in each transaction document.
