2823690 - "This item once existed but has been deleted" application error when creating an Item

When creating an Item, an application error happens:

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. At Learning Administration > Learning Activities > Items > Add new > create a new Item (note the ID and revision date/time of the item being created) > Save >
2. After creating the item, without making any additional updates/changes to the Item, delete the record (Actions > Delete) >
3. Now create a new item, using the same ID and providing an earlier revision date/time >
4. Upon saving this item, the error happens

Within the instance, an Item with the same ID had already existed but was subsequently deleted. Even though it was deleted from the UI, an entry of this item still exists within the database.

For example: the error is happening while trying to create and an Item with the ID ITEM_123 with a revision date of June 1st, 2019. And the item which was originally created and then deleted had the ID ITEM_123 and a revision date of July 1st, 2019.

In order to be able to create the new item without errors, there are two options:

1. Create the new item using a different item ID; OR
2. Create the new item providing a revision date/time that's after the deleted item's revision date. In the example above, it would need to be a data/time after July 1st, 2019

NOTE: If neither option is possible for whatever business reason, then the next step is to reach out to the Professional Services team. The only way then around this error would be to be make changes to the database and the Item ID which was originally created and then deleted.
