2824446 - New Home Page tile for ServiceNow / Third Party To-Do's

Symptom

  • Can we configure Third-Party application (like ServiceNow) To-Do items to appear on the SAP SuccessFactors Homepage?
  • Integrated 3rd Party application To-Do's will now appear on in the To-Do section of the Home Page.

Resolution

Prerequisites:

  • Users between SuccessFactors and ServiceNow are pre-configured.
  • Currently, only to-do items from on one 3rd Party Application is supported: ServiceNow

What is it and why is it important?

  • You can now access open to-do items from third-party applications from the Third-Party To-Do Items tile in the To-Do section on Home Page.
  • We’ve have created a single tile to integrate with 3rd party To-Do items in SuccessFactors.
  • This provides the capability for your users to have a single place to access all of their To-Do items.

How to enable?

Once your instance is successfully integrated with your ServiceNow system and users between SAP SuccessFactors and ServiceNow are pre-configured, the tile will appear automatically.

Can the tile be hidden?

Yes, to hide the tile follow the steps below.

  1. Manage Home Page
  2. To-Do Settings
  3. Show/Hide To-Do Tiles
  4. Third-Party To-Do Items: Use the toggle to Show (Yes) or Hide (No).

Notes:

  • If you choose hide the tile here, it will be hidden for ALL users.
  • No integration is required on the home page for service now  -  The TodoEntryV2 API for ServiceNow to pass to-do items to the third party to-do tile on Home Page. See the API reference guide TodoEntryV2 and a specific use case to create to-do items for ServiceNow Category (scrolling down to Use Case 4).
  • This particular setting is specific to the legacy home page and currently there isn't an option available to de-active this particular engagement card on the latest home page.

To‑Do Panel Hidden When Latest Shell Bar Experience Is Enabled

If the latest experience for the SAP shell bar is enabled, the To‑Do panel/icon will not appear in the header as documented in Changes Included in the SAP User Experience Updates | SAP Help Portal

This is because the To‑Do panel is being deprecated as it no longer aligns with SAP’s latest user experience standards.

How to Check Whether the Latest Shell Bar Experience Is Enabled

  1. Go to Company System and Logo Settings.
  2. Search for Enable the latest SAP shell bar. 
    • If this is checked, the To-Do Panel will NOT be displayed on the header / shell bar. 
    • If this is unchecked, the To-Do Panel will be displayed.
