Symptom
A user receives expiration/overdue notifications for trainings that are already completed.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Cause
This user have a duplicated user that has his/her email address configured. Usually it is a test user on LMS for administrators.
Resolution
Sometimes it is hard to find this second user, as it could have a different email address configured. For instance, an administrator that have multiple emails configured on test users and redirect all these emails to one (with a rule on customer mail server).
On this scenario, all users that have pending training will generate an expiration/overdue notification and send to user's email address. When it comes to customer mail server, it redirects to the original email and the user (in this case the administrator) believes that have pending training.
To check the original email address, you should check the Internet Headers from the original email (this process is for customers using Outlook for Office 365, 2016, 2013, or 2010 on a PC):
- Double-click the Expiration/Overdue email received to open it outside of the Reading Pane
- Click File > Properties
- Header information appears in the Internet headers box
- Look for the recipient information, 'the For Address'
To fix this, you need to find the test user on LMS instance and then either:
- Remove the email address from this test user
Or
- Remove the pending training from this test user
