2827524 - Import Tool - Import failed due to field maximum length exceeded

Administrators are uploading data via Import Data tool and it returns a message saying the field maximum length was exceeded.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

1. Download the sample file under Learning Administration >
2. System Administration >
3. System Management Tools >
4. Import Data >
5. Next to 'Action', select 'Download Template' >
6. Next to 'Entity Type', select the desired file >
7. Click Submit.
8. Fill the required fields >
9. Go to Learning Administration >
10. System Administration >
11. System Management Tools >
12. Import Data >
13. Next to 'Action', select 'Import Data' >
14. Fill all other required fields as well when selecting the filled file >
15. Proceed until it finishes the import process >
16. Check the results >
17. Failure message will be inside the file, you may download the results and check the error.

There is a limitation for each field in the file. To confirm the correct length, just hover the mouse over the field header and it will give you the correct value.

After confirming the length, file can be edited to the correct value.
