Symptom
Is it possible to change the message/warning that shows up when you have reached the maximum number of characters in a type="text" field?
"(field label) has a max length of 100"
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
Type "text" fields have a limit of 100 characters. So, when you are filling a field and you have entered more 100 characters, that message shows up.
It is possible to change that message using the Manage Language features to clarify that the limit is related to number of characters rather than number of words. However, it is important to point out that this might affect other places in the system, and other modules, that might be actually related to number of words rather than number of characters. That is because this message might appear somewhere else too.
Still, if you would like to change this message, you can follow the KBA below related to use the Manage Languages feature.
The key that is related to this message is ERROR_TEMPLATE_FIELD_LENGTH.
